Straightening your ripcord is easy and simple to do. The steps listed below will lead you through the process:

IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE NOT AT OR ABOVE THE AGE OF 11 THEN PLEASE GET A PARENT TO DO THIS FOR YOU AS I DON NOT WISH TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURIES AND RECEIVE HATE MAIL FROM YOUR PARENTS. THANK YOU.

  1. Boil a kettle or pour boiling water from the tap into a washing up bowl. (Boiling water from the kettle is the best option).
  2. Once you have poured the water, place your ripcord immediately into the water with the ripcord handle being kept out and leave for 1 minute.
  3. After 1 minute, remove your ripcord and pull it tight and straight for 30 seconds.
  4. Place in cold water for 30 seconds.
  5. Your ripcord should have cooled down by now, and should be straight.
  6. Leave for a further 5 minutes to fully cool down.
  7. If your ripcord isn't straight then repeat steps 1 and 2, then in step three bend the rip cord in the opposite direction of which it was bent when you took it out of the box.
  8. Then follow steps 4 and 5 again.

The whole point of straightening your ripcord is to reduce the friction between the ripcord , the gears and the launcher. Therefore providing you with a smoother launch and then resulting in your launcher lasting longer.
